Mitch has been anticipating this years deer hunt for months now and was SO excited for me to come! I had never been and wasn't so sure what to expect. We stayed at the cabin in Pine Valley which was really nice. And woke up at 5 a.m. to get everything together. Once we got to the spot where we were hunting it was so foggy we couldn't see more than 10 feet ahead of us. So we sat in the truck for about 45 minutes. Once the sun came up we got out and started hiking. Mitch had previously told me that they usually hunt from 6-10 and then go back to the cabin for lunch and head out again around 4 or 5. Well... 10 o' clock came around, then noon, then 2. We had not seen anything!! I was trying to be a good wife and not complain that I was tired and bored and wanted real food. Not jerky, trail mix and pop tarts. To make a long story short we finally headed back around 3 or 4. They saw a few doe but that was it. They went back that night and again the next day. I decided to stay at the cabin(good choice). I'm not sure if I will be going hunting again.. at least not for awhile :)
